Supported browsers and system requirements

isurv WorkSmart takes full advantage of the features of modern browsers to provide the best experience. Not all features can be supported on all browsers, and it is not possible to support all available versions of all browsers.

Supported browsers

Currently, we support the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 9 and above, on Windows Vista, 7 and 8.x
  • Google Chrome 24 and above, on Windows XP/Vista/7/8.x and Mac OS X
  • Mozilla Firefox 20 and above, on Windows XP/Vista/7/8.x and Mac OS X
  • Apple Safari 7 on Mac OS X

The Opera browser is not officially supported, but a recent version based on the WebKit rendering engine should give similar results to Google Chrome.

System requirements

A minimum screen resolution of 1024x768 is required, higher is preferred. JavaScript must be enabled.

Any relatively modern PC or Macintosh computer (less than 5 years old) should be powerful enough to achieve satisfactory performance. Older computers may still work but your experience may not be as good.

A broadband connection of at least 4Mbps is recommended. Dial-up internet is not fast enough to successfully run isurv WorkSmart.

Tablets and other mobile devices

isurv WorkSmart can be used on Windows 7/8.x tablet PCs running any of the browsers listed above, provided the minimum screen resolution requirement is met, but is not currently optimised for touch. Some tablet browsers do not support all the features that their desktop versions support.

We do not officially support the use of isurv WorkSmart on Apple iPads or Android tablets, though you may well find it works for you. Such use is at your own discretion and risk. We do support the use of isurv WorkSmart on 2nd generation Windows RT tablets (Surface 2, Nokia Lumia 2520) running Internet Explorer 10 or 11.

At present, there is no support for using isurv WorkSmart on smartphones. Even where mobile browsers can display the full version of the site, they are likely to be underpowered and not capable of providing a usable experience.

Internet Explorer 8

Support for Internet Explorer 8 has been withdrawn due to the change of editor technology used on the site. Customers who currently use IE8 on Windows XP or Windows 7 should use one of the supported browsers listed above instead. If you cannot do so, you can use Google Chrome Frame. This can be installed without requiring administrator permissions on your computer.
