Getting started

This page provides a basic guide to getting started creating forms with isurv WorkSmart. You can find more information on setting up an account, using the form manager, understanding the options menu, producing a report, using the text editor, working with phrases and buying credits on their individual pages. There are also a selection of FAQs available.

1. Create an account

  • Click on Register an account now, fill in your details and click the Create account button.
  • Check your email and click the activation link to confirm your account.
  • Complete the additonal information on this page and click Register to complete your registration.
  • When you first register, you will be automatically logged in. To log in in future, simply visit isurv WorkSmart, enter your e-mail address and password, and click Log in.

2. Create a form

  • Click Create new form.
  • Using the drop-down list, select the form you wish to create.
  • Enter a name or reference for your form.
  • Each form is kept in a virtual folder. Enter a name for a new folder (or choose an existing one if you have created forms before) and click Create form.

3. Fill-in a form

  • Once your empty form has loaded, you can start to fill in the details.
  • Fill out each field as required, using the Previous page and Next page buttons to move between different pages or skip between sections using the Contents button.
  • All fields marked with an asterisk are compulsory components of the report.
  • You can get help on filling out the form using the Help tab on the right of the screen.
  • When your form is complete, click Review and then Download PDF preview to see what your finished form will look like.
  • You can save the form to return to editing it later by clicking Save now.

4. Add a copyright license and buy credits

  • Before you can publish a form on isurv WorkSmart you need an RICS copyright license for producing that form and a credit for each form you intend to publish.
  • To register your license number, click Options, then Licenses. Click Add license, enter your license number, select the type of form the license is for and click Add license.
  • To buy credits, click Options, then Credits and purchases, then Add credits. Add the number of credits you would like to buy to your basket, then click Checkout and follow the payment instructions.

5. Publish and distribute a form

  • Once you are happy with your form, click Publish.
  • If there are any mandatory fields that you haven't filled in, you will be reminded and prompted to go back and fill them in.
  • You'll be shown the cost in credits of publishing your form. When you are ready, click Publish now and the cost of the form will be deducted from your balance.
  • Your form is now 'Published'. To distribute the form by email, click Download and distribute now (or choose Download and distribute from the options menu).
  • On this screen you can download your form and attach other documents to it then automatically e-mail it to others by entering their contact details and clicking Distribute forms.
